What to Expect at Carnation Acupuncture

The first treatments are slightly longer because it includes an initial intake, during which you will complete your intake form and your provider asks about your past medical history and treatment goals in order to make a personalized treatment plan and customize it to your satisfaction.

Our fully licensed acupuncturists treat you by inserting several hair-thin metallic needles in your skin at the appropriate locations throughout the body while you sit or lie down comfortably on the treatment table or massage chair. A heat lamp may be used if necessary. In addition to acupuncture treatments, cupping and moxibustion may be used to maximize the efficacy of each treatment if your provider deems it appropriate. Moreover, our dual-licensed acupuncturists and herbalists will provide you with recommendations for herbal supplements to further improve the outcome of your treatments.

Our massage therapists will work in tandem with or independent from our acupuncturist colleagues and will help reduce the tension from your body to create the ultimate wellness experience.

In our office we routinely sanitize the treatment areas and use UV-embedded air purifiers and follow strict local and national guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff. Your temperature will be measured using a contactless thermometer and you will be asked to sanitize your hands and wear a surgical or cloth mask prior to entering the treatment area.

All payments are to be made at or before services are rendered. Treatment packages are available. Promotions may be offered at different times. Please check with your insurance company in advance to ensure you have acupuncture benefits through your coverage. Currently we accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Mass General Brigham (previously Allways Health Partners), Harvard Pilgrim, Humana, Aetna, Health New England, and MassHealth. If our claim to the insurance company is denied, you will be responsible for paying for the treatments you have received. Not all products from the companies above are accepted. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted at the moment.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We respectfully ask that you wear a surgical mask at all times and maintain social distancing. Clients requesting treatment on the face must show proof of vaccination, otherwise facial treatments will not be provided. We provide hand sanitizers for your convenience and will check your temperature to allow you in the office. We reserve the right to cancel your appointment if the office protocols are not followed. Cancellation fee will be applied.
